There is a natural cohesion of interest between ourselves and The Bigger Picture to raise awareness about the vital work carried out by the anti-poaching teams in Zambia. Janus has nine offices in Africa and we recognize that the wildlife in Zambia must be protected and The Bigger Picture Team aims to raise awareness and valuable funds to enable this”
Dale Allen | Janus Global Operations, Vice President of Commercial Operations
In February 2017, members of The Bigger Picture team Freddy Paske, Dave Mackay and a documentary film maker traveled to Kafue National Park, known as the lungs of Africa and one of the largest national parks on the continent, to work with Game Rangers International (GRI), a Zambian anti-poaching organisation. Through their respective mediums of art, photography and film they will create an impartial documentary of what life is like on the front line of conservation.
In June 2017 they will use the material they have gathered to publish a sketchbook, a short film and to hold a week-long exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, alongside the 10th Anniversary of The David Shepherd Foundation’s (DSWF) Wildlife Artist of the Year event. Money raised through sales and donations will be donated to GRI to go towards keeping those involved in anti-poaching safe through the provision of professional training and equipment. The DSWF guided and established a strong relationship with GRI in Zambia and are delighted that The Bigger Picture will be raising valuable funds for this vital wildlife conservation enabled by Janus.
"The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation is thrilled to be working in partnership with The Bigger Picture, using the creative arts as a platform to raise both awareness and vital funds for front line conservation in Zambia. We are grateful to Janus Global Operations for being a key partner in enabling this project"
